Benghazi, 22 September 2014:
A small explosive device, said to be a gelatina bomb, was thrown under a car . . .[restrict]near the Constitution Drafting Assembly in Beida today, damaging it and at least one other vehicles. However, no one was hurt and a spokesman from the CDA told the Libya Herald that it was “still convening normally”.
Three months ago, a much larger bomb exploded outside the CDA, causing extensive damage but again, fortunately, no injuries. It led to tighter security around the building and in the area.
Today’s explosion, although it seems to be the work of an amateur, is bound to increase concerns about security in Beida, given that terrorists can still operate despite improved security. [/restrict]
