Ten masked gunmen hijacked an . . .[restrict]Aman Bank security van in Tripoli this morning, abducting two guards inside and making off with LD 6 million.
A source at Aman Bank, speaking on condition of anonymity, told the Libya Herald that the armoured van was was taken at 9 am, en route from the bank’s Gurji branch to deposit money at the Central Bank of Libya. He said the assailants fired RPGs at the van giving the guards no option but to stop and allow the robbery to take place.
It is reported that the van has been traced. However at the time of publication there was no indication the van, the money or the missing guards had been recovered. [/restrict]
