The Deputy Prime Minister who is also acting Minister of Interior, Sadiq Abdulkarim, has been to . . .[restrict]Tunis this week where he discussed with Tunisian President Moncef Marzouki boosting cooperation between the two countries particularly in the areas of security and counter-terrorism.
Speaking on Thursday, both men stressed the need to develop the joint border area and cracking down on smuggling and weapons trafficking across it.
The meeting was also attended by the Tunisian Minister of Interior Lotfi Ben Jeddou.
The Tunisian Ambassador in Tripoli, Rodha Boukadi, told the Libya Herald that the Tunisian authorities still lacked the proper means of dealing effectively with the security situation on the border. [/restrict]
