Tripoli, 29 May 2013:
The Prime Minister today again denied the accusation by Niger that the bombers who carried out last Thursday’s double attack there, killing 24 people, had come from Libya.
On Saturday, Niger President Mahamadou Issoufou claimed the Islamist militants had crossed into Niger from Libya.
Speaking at his press conference today, Zeidan said that Libya, worked hard to be a friendly country to the whole world. Investigations had shown that no terrorists had crossed into Niger from Libyan territory, he stated and called on the Nigerean authorities not to interfere in the country’s internal affairs. Libya, he said, was still demanding that Niger hand over Saadi Qaddafi as well as other members of the former regime, including Abdullah Mansour and Ali Kana.
