The National Oil Corporation (NOC) announced today the start of exploratory drilling operations in the NC2 K1 well, located in the Southwestern Mountains region of the Ghadames Basin.
The drilling operations are supervised by NOC subsidiary, the Arabian Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO), and are in accordance with approved licensing procedures.
The NOC revealed that AGOCO is using the ADWOC 7004 rig, owned by the Arab Drilling and Well Maintenance Company (ADWOC), for its exploration operations, under official direct operating contracts.
The company, it added, aims to reach a final depth of 11,700 feet with this well, making it the tenth exploratory well executed by AGOCO in the same area since it began its exploration activities in 1985.
