Minister of Industry meets the Committee for Localisation of Oil Materials and Equipment Industry

‎The Ministry of Industry and Minerals reported yesterday that its Minister, Ahmed Abuhisa, held a meeting at the Ministry’s Tripoli headquarters with Mohamed Al-Hangari, the Chairman of the Libyan Export Development Authority (LEDA) with the aim of launching a framework for cooperation to support the domestic industrial sector and raise its export efficiency.‎

‎The meeting included an extensive discussion of joint coordination mechanisms aimed at addressing the challenges facing national economic priority industries. The two parties discussed practical ways to enhance the added value of local products and provide the necessary technical and logistical requirements to support the resumption of the activity of troubled factories with export potential.‎

‎The meeting also focused on the importance of reviving the disabled industrial facilities to enhance the role of national industries in supporting the Libyan economy, stressing the need to exploit local resources, in which the country has abundant production and great export potential.‎

‎In this context, the Minister stressed that the Ministry is continuing to research and invest any possible opportunities to revive and operate distressed factories, especially those of an export nature, stressing their pivotal importance in supporting the national economy and creating new and sustainable job opportunities.‎
