Libya’s state National Oil Corporation (NOC) reported yesterday that its business development team held a meeting at the NOC’s headquarters in Tripoli yesterday with officials of British Petroleum (BP).
It said the meeting discussed BP’s desire to expand its investments in Libya, especially in the fields of exploration and development, with a focus on projects to increase additional recovery.
During the meeting, the NOC reported, BP representatives stressed that Libya is one of the target countries for investment in exploration and field development, which contributes to increasing production.
BP has exploration and sharing agreements in three exploration blocks in Libya: one in the Sirte basin and two in the Ghadames basin, in partnership with Eni and the Libyan Investment Authority (LIA). The NOC said BP is also preparing to drill the first exploratory well in plot B in the Ghadames basin.
The meeting was attended by the team leader, the advisor to the Board of Directors, the director of BP, as well as several managers and specialists from both sides.
