The Attorney General’s Office reported on Wednesday that seven have been detained, pending their case, accused of smuggling 180,000 litres of petrol on the Zintan – Shwerif – Niger route.
They were tracked several times on their regular routes by the 444th Brigade (a non-militia army unit) and their group was identified. They were arrested red-handed in the process of smuggling the 180,000 litres.
The Chief Prosecutor directed the judicial police to prosecute the rest of those involved in organizing the activity.
