The Urban Expo and Forum concludes its activities

The Urban Expo and Forum 2023 (Tripoli, 15 to 16 March) was distinguished by the prominent Italian participation with two initiatives introduced by Italian Ambassador to Libya Giuseppe Grimaldi: The first was Italian architectural heritage in the Mediterranean and the second was the 7th edition of the Italian Design Day (Photo: AD Exhibitions).

The Urban Expo and Forum 2023 (Tripoli, 15 to 16 March) concluded its activities Thursday.

The opening was attended by the former Prime Minister and President of the Presidential Council, Fayez Sarraj, the head of the General Union of Libyan Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, Mohamed Raied, the Italian Ambassador to Libya Giuseppe Grimaldi, several directors of the participating companies, representatives of the government of Abd Alhamid Al-Dabaiba, and government agencies and bodies specialized in real estate and infrastructure.

Italy participated with two initiatives
This year’s event, a joint event, was distinguished by the prominent Italian participation. Italy presented with two initiatives: The first was dedicated to the Italian architectural heritage in the Mediterranean; the second dedicated to the 7th edition of the Italian Design Day.

Both initiatives were organized by the Italian Embassy in Tripoli in cooperation with the local Italian Trade Agency (ITA) Office. The Italian embassy says both activities fall within the Italian effort to further enhance bilateral cooperation in the cultural and economic sectors of Libya, which has in Italy its first trade partner.

The event included a group of Libyan companies specialized in the field of real estate development and investment, which concluded partnerships with owners of private and public real estate projects inside Libya, in addition to presenting new ideas to contribute to the reconstruction of Libyan cities.

Urban development in Libya explored
Speaking exclusively to Libya Herald, Ghaleb Al-Giblawi, the General Manager of AD Exhibitions and Conferences Organizing Company, the company organizing the event, confirmed that the second successive edition of the Urban Exhibition and Forum, proved to be an important event. He said it explored the prospects for urban development in Libya, crystallising into strategies and policies that can be applied. This is done by holding these discussions open to the public and stakeholders from planners, architects, policy makers and financiers,

Al-Giblawi said that the exhibition provided an opportunity for a selected group of engineering consulting companies to participate in the exhibition, to urge partnerships with international expertise houses, to expand and acquire management skills, design, and supervise current real estate development projects announced by the public and private sectors.
