London, 17 June 2020:
Libya’s Coronavirus cases have continued to rise daily with the latest total up to 484 over the last two days. Recoveries have also risen to 76 while deaths remain at 10.
The new positive cases are spread across west, east and south Libya and are a mixture of new cases, cases that have mixed with existing cases and cases that have been repatriated from abroad.
In response to this continued increase in cases, Libya’s National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has recommended that the Tripoli government extend the 8pm to 6pm daily curfew from today for another 10 days, but announce a 24-hour curfew this coming Friday and Saturday and make the wearing of masks compulsory.
All non-food shops are to remain closed.
