The Minister of Economy and Trade published Decision No. 493 of 2026 on the regulation and control of export operations.

The Ministry says this comes as part of efforts to monitor local market conditions, enhance food security, and ensure the stable availability of essential goods for citizens.

The decision prohibits the export of all agricultural products—with the exception of dates—and bans the export of locally produced food products until local market conditions stabilize.

It also prohibits the re-export of all types of imported goods and products.

The Ministry said this decision is part of measures aimed at rebalancing local markets, meeting consumer needs, and ensuring the stability of food supplies during the current period, thereby serving the public economic interest and maintaining the sustained availability of essential goods.
