The Tripoli based Foreign Ministry reported yesterday that, Mahmoud Al-Futaisi, Chargé d'affaires of the Libyan Embassy in the United States, met on Wednesday with Massad Boulos, the U.S. President’s Advisor on Arab and Middle Eastern affairs, at the State Department in Washington.

The meeting focused on the latest developments in Libya and the country's path toward stability and the unification of state institutions.

During the meeting, Foreign the Ministry reported, Boulos affirmed that the United States has no intention of imposing solutions or options on the Libyan people, noting that its role centres on supporting the Libyan people and their aspirations for a unified, secure, and stable state. He also expressed appreciation for the efforts undertaken by the Tripoli government in this regard.

For his part, Al-Futaisi emphasized that national decisions must stem from the will of the Libyan people. He highlighted that the priority for the current phase is to preserve the country's unity, unify its institutions, and strengthen its sovereignty, ultimately leading to a stable state with unified institutions that serve all Libyans.
