The Chairman of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), Masoud Suleiman, announced today the full resumption of operations at Sirte Oil Company’s Methanol Plants.

This follows the completion of maintenance work and the replacement of the control system at the second plant—a milestone, the NOC says, that coincides with the 65th anniversary of the first crude oil shipment exported from Libya.

The NOC also announced the inauguration of the operation of the Brega refinery today—part of Sirte Company—following a long period of inactivity, during which it underwent a major overhaul.

This process included replacing the catalyst, upgrading control systems, and constructing a new, state-of-the-art control room.
