The Director-General of the Libyan Development and Reconstruction Fund, Belgasem Khalifa Haftar, received a high-level delegation from China. The delegation included the Director-General of the Department of West Asian and North African Affairs at the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ambassador of China to Libya, and their accompanying delegation.
The meeting addressed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation and explored prospects for partnership in the fields of development, the economy, and investment. Discussions also covered opportunities for collaboration on strategic infrastructure and reconstruction projects, in alignment with the development plans currently being implemented by the Fund across the country.
Furthermore, the meeting served as an opportunity to emphasize the importance of expanding cooperation and joint coordination, as well as leveraging Chinese expertise and capabilities in priority sectors. This is intended to support development and reconstruction efforts while fostering investment opportunities and international partnerships.
The Fund said the meeting is part of its ongoing efforts to consolidate relations with international partners and enhance cooperation with nations and institutions that possess leading expertise—all in service of national development goals and the broader process of construction and reconstruction in Libya.
