Greek carrier Aegean Airlines reported last Tuesday (6 October) that it plans to launch direct flights to Tripoli and Benghazi starting in May 2027 - subject to the completion of regulatory procedures.
Aegean Airlines S.A. is the flag carrier of Greece and the largest Greek airline by total number of passengers carried, by number of destinations served, and by fleet size.
It will be recalled that Libyan-owned and Maltese-registered MedSky Airlines already operates direct chartered flight services from Tripoli and Benghazi to Athens. It also operates direct charter flights to Malta, Rome, Milan, Madrid, Dusseldorf and Paris.
Similarly, Libyan Express, in cooperation with Aeroitalia and 4Airways, also operates direct charter flights to Malta, Rome and Milan.
