The Faculty of Information Technology at the University of Tripoli hosted the signing ceremony yesterday of a cooperation agreement between the Office of the Minister of State for Digital Economy and Artificial Intelligence and the Samsung Innovation Campus programme.
The agreement was signed by Minister of State Ziad Al-Hajjaji and the programme’s regional director. This initiative falls under the Prime Minister's programme to build youth capacity in artificial intelligence and was attended by Mustafa Al-Mana, Head of the Executive Team for the Prime Minister's Initiatives and Strategic Projects; Khaled Aoun, President of the University of Tripoli; and several other officials.
The agreement aims to implement the Samsung Innovation Campus programme in Libya, empowering Libyan youth to acquire digital skills and knowledge of artificial intelligence applications. It seeks to enhance their readiness for the demands of the labour market and the future economy by training 150 young men and women from across the country.
Running from 11 August to 6 October 2026, the programme will be conducted virtually through live interactive sessions and self-paced learning. It is part of a prominent global initiative that Samsung has been implementing in 42 countries since 2019.
The programme's implementation aligns with the efforts of the Office of the Minister of State for Digital Economy and Artificial Intelligence to expand partnerships with international institutions and support national capacity-building in the fields of digital transformation and artificial intelligence.
