The NOC announced yesterday that it is continuing its recently launched afforestation campaign, which aims to plant one million trees as part of its strategy to reduce carbon dioxide emissions.

The NOC revealed that yesterday, it had completed the planting of trees in the area surrounding the Abu Attifel oil field, one of the targeted areas.

The NOC’s Sustainable Development Department reported that the project has reached over 50% completion, covering numerous Libyan regions surrounding and near production sites. The campaign will continue in the coming days to reach the target.

The NOC said its Chairman, Masoud Suleiman, is closely monitoring the project’s progress and emphasizes its importance in reducing carbon dioxide emissions and increasing oxygen levels in areas near production sites.
