The Minister of Local Government who doubles up as the Head of the Government Emergency and Rapid Response Team, Abdelshafi Al-Juwaifi, chaired an extraordinary meeting with members of the Government Emergency Team, including Minister of Health Mohamed Al-Ghouj, Minister of Water Resources Hosni Owaidan, Tripoli Security Director Major General Khalil Wahiba, and several other officials, to assess the effect and response to current heavy rainstorm and its impact.

During the meeting, the team reviewed the situation on the ground in the areas most affected by the severe weather conditions and evaluated the speed, efficiency, and effectiveness of the response from relevant government teams and agencies.

Al-Juwaifi instructed the Tripoli General Services Company to provide Tajoura Municipality with additional vehicles and water pumping equipment to expedite the drainage of water accumulations on public roads, ensuring the smooth flow of traffic and the safety of citizens.

At the beginning of the meeting, the attendees offered their deepest condolences to the family of the young man who passed away because of the rainfall in the Tajoura area.
