A delegation of Spanish companies is to visit Tripoli in May this year.
The news was revealed yesterday after the Chairman of the Tripoli Chamber of Commerce, Anwar Abusitta, hosted Sonsoles Muñoz, the Commercial Attaché of the Spanish Embassy at the Chamber’s Tripoli headquarters.
During the meeting, the two sides agreed to organize the May visit by the delegation of Spanish companies which will include a meeting with Tripoli Chamber at its headquarters.
The two sides agreed that the May visit by a delegation of Spanish companies to the Chamber’s headquarters in May is a step aimed at strengthening direct communication and opening new horizons for economic cooperation.
Enhance economic cooperation between the private sectors
The two sides discussed ways to enhance economic cooperation between the private sectors of both countries and the importance of increasing reciprocal visits between businesspeople and traders, as well as supporting networking opportunities and participation in joint economic exhibitions and forums.

Abusitta also confirmed the Tripoli Chamber’s participation in the Libyan-Spanish Economic Forum scheduled to be held in Madrid in April 2026. He emphasized the importance of activating partnerships between private sector institutions, particularly in the meat, agriculture, building materials, and ceramics sectors, which would contribute to creating new investment opportunities and strengthening trade between the two countries.
Tripoli Chamber said this meeting comes within the framework of efforts to develop international economic relations and support the opening of the Libyan market to European markets, in a way that serves the interests of the national economy.
