The Renewable Energy Authority of Libya (REAoL) reported yesterday that its Chairman, Abdel Salam Al-Ansari, received a high-level delegation from the British Embassy in Tripoli yesterday, headed by British Ambassador, Martin Reynolds.
The two sides discussed strengthening cooperation in the field of renewable energy and the energy transition.
The meeting was also attended by Aseel Younis Mohammed, Chairman of the Renewable Energy Holding Company, along with several directors of departments and offices within the Authority.
The meeting addressed several important topics, including an introduction to REAoL and its responsibilities, a review of the National Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Strategy, REAoL’s activities over the past period, and discussions regarding the Energy Transition Conference in cooperation with the Libyan British Business Council (LBBC) in the UK.
The two sides also explored areas of cooperation with the British side and ways to encourage British companies to invest in renewable energy projects in Libya. They further discussed technical support, capacity building, and knowledge transfer.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening the partnership and ongoing coordination to support the renewable energy sector and achieve sustainable development goals in Libya.
