The Libyan Export Development Authority (LEDA) reported last Tuesday (16 December) that Zuwara Port is being considered as the site of the first phase of the establishment of an integrated fisheries industrial zone in partnership, and in accordance with the Libyan Investment Law, between the private sector Libyan Distinguished Group and the Albanian company Rozafa.

Rozafa says on its social media site that it is ‘‘the largest fishing company in Albania with a fleet of 12 fishing vessels, and 4 important processing centers in Albania and over 1000 employees’’.

‎The LEDA says the news came during a meeting held at the Ministry of Marine Resources in the presence of the Undersecretary for Technical Affairs, which included Mohamed Al-Hangari, Chairman of the LEDA, the Chairman of the Libyan Distinguished Group Holding for Marine Investments, and a delegation of businessmen from Albania headed by Mr. Georgio head of Rozafa, ‘‘one of the largest institutions working in the fields of fisheries and fisheries industries’’.‎

The meeting also discussed the formation of a technical team to prepare an integrated study of the project, and the selection of several other Libyan ports in which to implement the experiment in stages.
