Dahra oilfield pipeline catches fire

Waha Oil Company announced yesterday the successful launch of three new oil wells as part of the Waha Field Development Programme. The company said this is a new step that reflects the accelerated pace of development and will support increased daily crude oil production and enhance the efficiency of the operational system.

The work included launching well Q-116 in October 2025, with a production capacity estimated at approximately 2,777 barrels per day (bpd). This was followed by launching well B-230 in the same month, with a production capacity of 1,038 bpd. Additionally, well Q-118 was brought online in November 2025, with a daily production of 1,239 barrels.

Operations were carried out entirely by Libyan personnel
Waha said these operations were carried out entirely by Libyan personnel, with high-level coordination and effective integration between the Operations, Drilling, Reservoir, and Production departments, and with the support of other relevant departments.

It said this demonstrates the company’s technical readiness and reflects the high level of institutional harmony within the company.

Two additional wells are expected to be added to the production system soon, which will significantly increase overall production and enhance its sustainability.

This achievement, it added, comes as part of ongoing efforts to develop oil fields and improve operational performance, in line with the strategic plans of the company and the National Oil Corporation, aimed at increasing production rates and strengthening reliance on national expertise.
