Libyan Artificial Intelligence "LibiGPT".

The LIBIGPT project, the first model of generative artificial intelligence (AI) in Libya, was announced in Tripoli yesterday.

The project, implemented by Smart Co for Technology Projects and Artificial Intelligence, was implemented by the Minister of Economy and Trade, Mohamed Al-Hwej; the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, Masouda Al-Aswad; the Mayor of Central Tripoli, Fadel Bouargoub; the President of the Tripoli Chamber of Commerce, Anwar Abu Sitta; and the project’s developer, Dr. Ali Al-Baji, the company that owns and implements the project.

In his speech, the Minister praised the efforts of the head and members of the project team, reiterating his call to all government institutions, universities, and civil society to support entrepreneurs and provide all necessary facilities for researchers in the technology and artificial intelligence sectors.

He noted that the LIBIGPT project represents an artificial intelligence revolution for the transition to a knowledge economy in Libya, relying on human resources and capacity development. He also called on the Ministry of Education to develop educational curricula and employ modern technology within educational institutions.
