The Attorney General’s Office reported yesterday that Public Prosecution has filed a public lawsuit against the Assistant General Manager for Financial Affairs, accounting and audit officials, and the Assistant Accounting Officer for Budget Affairs at the Sahary Bank.
It reported that the Public Prosecution examined a report that dealt with the evidence of the deviation of the financial statements detailing the performance of Sahary Bank during the financial period 2023. The search revealed that false profits were recorded when preparing the statement of the financial position, and the payment of taxes.
This resulted in the withholding of previous losses, and damage to the bank amounting to fifteen LD 15,073,623 million.
As a result, the Public Prosecution put the defendants in pretrial detention and referred them to the judiciary.
