‎The Attorney General’s Office reported yesterday that the Criminal Court has convicted the former Branch Manager and the Credit Officer of the Agricultural Bank – Qasr Bin Ghashir.

The Public Prosecutor had also charged a member of the legal office in the branch for their joint responsibility for serious damage to public funds and the development plan, and for violating the law for the purpose of achieving illegal benefits for others,

The Criminal Court imposed a prison sentence of four years on the former Branch Manager and fined him twenty thousand dinars. It imposed a prison sentence of three years on the Credit Officer and fined him seven hundred thousand dinars. It deprived them of their civil rights for the duration of the sentence and for a year following its execution.

But the court acquitted the member of the legal office of the charges against him. The Public Prosecution’s assessment of the fine imposed on the first and second defendants and its acquittal of the legal office member were not accepted. Therefore, the Public Prosecution decided to appeal these part of the ruling.
