Economy Minister Hwej reviews his ministry’s implementation of its 2023 plan and issues several directives

Libya and Tunisia stressed the importance of formulating a clear vision for the development of transit trade between Tunisia and Libya, and from there to sub-Saharan African markets, in a way that contributes to strengthening regional economic cooperation.

‎This came during a meeting between the Tripoli based Minister of Economy and Trade, Mohamed Al-Hwej, met with his Tunisian counterpart, Minister of Trade and Export Development Samir Obaid Al-Tunisi. The meeting came on the sidelines of the meeting of the Economic and Social Council at the level of Arab ministers held in Cairo on last Thursday, 13 February.

The Ministers discussed the development of economic and trade relations with his Tunisian counterpart.‎

The two sides also stressed the need to implement the outputs of the Libyan Tunisian Joint Economic Committee, with an emphasis on activating what was agreed upon during the visit of the Tunisian Minister of Trade to Libya in December 2024, to ensure economic and trade integration.‎
