A Libyan Serbian Economic Forum will be held in late January or early February 2025 in Tripoli, Serbia’s Ambassador to Libya Dragan Todorovic said.
The sentiment came out of separate meetings Todorovic held yesterday in Tripoli with Prime Minister Abdel Hamid Aldabaiba and Transport Minister Mohamed Al-Shahoubi.
The Tripoli based Libyan government reported that Todorovic’s meeting with Aldabaiba followed up on the activation of previous agreements between the two countries, where the ambassador gave a briefing on cooperation between Libya and Serbia in various fields, and praised the influx of Serbian businessmen and tourists to Libya, which he said reflects the improvement of relations between the two countries.
The meeting also discussed facilitating the granting of visas to Libyans, and the return of direct flights between Libya and Serbia.
Meanwhile, Transport Minister Al-Shahoubi praised the depth of relations between the two friendly countries and the interdependence of the former Libyan-Yugoslav relations.
Minister Al-Shahoubi also invited the opening areas of cooperation between the two countries and for the return of Serbian companies to work in Libya. This is to give Serbian companies the opportunity to contribute to projects and to open horizons of cooperation in various fields. These fields are to include health and treatment services, and to open the academic field for study and work to facilitate the granting of Serbian visas to Libyans wishing to travel to Serbia.
