Misrata Free Zone (MFZ) reported yesterday that it had successfully conducted the first operational trials of the new pneumatic ship grain ship pump/loader/unloader.
The experiments were conducted by emptying the wheat material, testing all parts of the grain pump, measuring their efficiency under various conditions, as well as calculating the actual suction capacity of one suction machine. It reported that the initial results were excellent and close to the design capacity.
MFZ reported that the port’s grain silos maintenance and development projects are the first of their kind since their establishment in the mid-seventies, as they contain silos cells each with a diameter of 12 meters and a height of 45 meters with a total capacity of 40,000 tons.
These silos, MFZ added, will help eliminate the quantitative and qualitative losses of grains, as part of its development plan launched to enhance its position, improve the quality of work and increase its added value.
