The Attorney General’s Office reported yesterday that the Tripoli Criminal Court has imprisoned the former ambassador to Italy for ten years. He was also obliged to return the proceeds of the criminal incidents.
The Attorney General’s Office reported that the court addressed the incidents attributed to the mission official to Italy. The court investigated evidence proving the abuse of the powers of the position assigned to him and evidence of his obtaining illicit financial gain received through his duties.
It said the prosecution took the necessary measures to implement the sentence imposed through the mechanisms of international cooperation in criminal matters.
