Libya’s state National Oil Corporation (NOC) and its subsidiary, the Arabian Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO), announced today the launch of ‘‘a wide afforestation campaign’’ for all company sites.
The announcement followed a meeting Thursday of the Director of Sustainable Development of the NOC with the Chairman of the Management Committee of AGOCO in Benghazi.
The meeting discussed ways to enhance cooperation in the field of environmental protection and sustainable development and resulted in the agreement to launch a wide afforestation campaign that includes all the company’s sites, to increase green spaces, improve air quality, and contribute to achieving sustainable development.
The parties also agreed to form a working group to identify suitable sites for planting trees, and to develop a specific time plan for the implementation of the campaign.
