Libya, Tunisia and Algeria’s Chambers of Commerce sign cooperation agreement

Head of Union of Chambers calls on Greek companies to return to their stalled Libyan projects

The head of the General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Mohamed Raied, signed a Cooperation and Partnership Agreement last Tuesday (23 July) in Algiers with the President of the Tunisian Federation of Industries and Commerce, Samir Majoul, and the President of the Algerian Economic Renewal Council, Kamel Mawla.

The Cooperation and Partnership Agreement aims to achieve economic integration among the three countries through economic cooperation and unifying efforts by establishing a mechanism to:

  • Arrange joint business forums
  • Unify procedures to ensure the flow of goods
  • Work to establish free trade zones
  • Integrate young people in joint investment projects
  • Support bilateral trade lines
  • Open land crossings
  • Operate the sea line
  • Resuming the air route between the two countries as soon as possible
