The Tripoli based Libyan Minister of Planning, Mohamed Al-Zaidani, participated in the 2024 Annual Meeting of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in the Armenian city of Yerevan held from 14 to 16 May.

The Libyan government reported that the meeting discussed the adoption of the budget and the next strategy for the work of the Bank, as well as the adoption of the accession of Kenya and Nigeria to the membership of the Bank. The meeting then elected the President of the Bank for a new term from France. ‎

‎Using EBRD financing for Libyan development projects
For his part, the Minister of Planning held several meetings on the sidelines of the Annual Meeting with Kozo Heiko, Director General of the EBRD, the Deputy Governor of the Bank for Turkey, Director of the Bank’s Regional Sector for North Africa and the Mediterranean East, and Director of the Bank’s office in Tunisia, to discuss the extent to which the Bank’s financing can be used for development projects that benefit the Libyan state.‎
