Libya’s state Afriqiyah Airlines announced Tuesday that after a near four-year hiatus, it had resumed its services to Niger’s capital, Niamey.

On Tuesday, Afriqiyah Airways said it had started to fly Nigerien Umrah pilgrims to Mecca from Niamey’s Diori Hamani Airport directly to Saudi’s Medina Airport on board one of its Airbus A330 aircraft.

It revealed that it will continue throughout the year to serve Niger’s Umrah pilgrims, to be followed by scheduled flights from Tripoli to Niamey after a hiatus of more than four years.
