The Centre for Quality and Professional Standardization of the Ministry of Labour and Rehabilitation signed a memorandum of understanding on Monday with the British Pearson Foundation for Training and Education at the Foundation’s headquarters in the capital, London.
The signing ceremony took place in a meeting attended by officials from the Libyan side and the British government.
The Minister of Labour and Rehabilitation, Ali Al-Abed Al-Rida, stressed in the meeting the partnership in the fields of training, education and vocational rehabilitation, praising the role of the Pearson Foundation and its cooperation with the Ministry.
The signing ceremony was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour for Employment Affairs, Ali Al-Maqouri, the Director General of the Quality Assurance Centre, Fathi Al-Habasi, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy in London, Khaled Ajwaida, the British Prime Minister’s envoy to Libya, Yvonne Fovargue, the Executive Director of the Pearson Foundation, Michael Howells, and the Chairman of the British-Libyan Business Council, Peter Millett.
Officials at the Pearson Foundation gave a detailed presentation on the organization’s history and its outcomes in the field of language, tests, and vocational qualification. The two parties discussed cooperation to identify needs and requirements aimed at developing the administrative staff, institutional restructuring, and skills development.
The Ministry of Labour and Rehabilitation added that the British Pearson Training and Education Foundation is a pioneer in the field and is considered one of the most prominent institutions in training and education globally.
