The Ministry of Local Government reported that the head of the Tripoli-based Libyan Government Team for Emergency and Rapid Response – the Minister of Local Government, Bader Aldeen Al-Tumi, signed, on Monday, a memorandum of understanding with the Spanish Remar Organization, a non-governmental organization working in the field of relief and development.
The MoU aims to cooperate in establishing and managing a village hospital in the municipalities affected by floods and torrents. This is to be implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and the affected municipalities.
The Ministry of Local Government said this step comes within the framework of the Tripoli government’s strengthening of cooperation and coordination programmes with Libya’s development partners, in accordance with the requirements determined by the government in confronting the repercussions of the disaster caused by the Storm Daniel floods.
The memorandum also aims to strengthen cooperation between the government and the Remar Organization in the fields of health and local development, including equipping the village hospital with the necessary medical equipment, and training local medical and paramedical personnel.
