The Ministry of Economy and Trade discussed preparations for holding a forum entitled “Legal Protection of Trademarks – Its Concept and the Role of Related Entities in Combating Trademark Counterfeiting”.
The event was discussed during a meeting held at the Ministry’s Tripoli office yesterday, chaired by Marai Al-Darsi, Director of the Inspection and Consumer Protection Department, Chairman of the Preparatory Committee for the event scheduled to be held in December. The event is organized by the Ministry of Economy and Trade in cooperation with the North Africa Company for Trademark Registration and Protection.
The role of the Ministry in protecting commercial rights
The attendees reviewed the general programme of the event, and the institutions, governmental and private centres, and civil society organizations targeted for participation and attendance. The event will focus on the role of the Ministry of Economy and Trade in registering and protecting trademarks and coordinating with relevant authorities in promoting intellectual property rights and combating the phenomenon of commercial fraud and counterfeiting trademarks.
