The Director of the Media Office of the Misrata Free Zone (MFZ), Alaeddin Baba, confirmed in an exclusive statement to Libya Herald that the Iranian shipping line IRISL has resumed its service to the MFZ through its local shipping agent, the Germa Shipping Agencies Company.

Baba stated that the free zone inaugurated the operation of this line in a ceremony held yesterday, at the MFZ port, in the presence of the MFZ Chairman and MFZ General Manager, the Chairman of the Libyan Ports Company, the Chairman of Germa Agency, the representative of the Iranian shipping line.

MFZ to be a centre for transit shipping and trade
Baba pointed out the arrival of the first voyage of the IRISL to the MFZ port, to contribute to increasing navigation traffic, maritime transit and transit trade from Libya to the Mediterranean countries and sub-Saharan African countries, in order to achieve the strategy of making the MFZ an international commercial centre for transit shipping and transit trade.
