Misrata’s Libya Industries Fair includes participants from Greece, Turkey and the U.S.

The Libya Industries Fair 2023, to be held in Misrata from 25 February to 2 March, will include participants from Greece, Turkey and the U.S. (Logo: Event Social Media).

The second edition of the Libya Industries Fair 2023 (25 February to 2 March) will include the participation of several foreign companies from Greece, Turkey and the United States.

In an exclusive interview with Libya Herald, the Media Spokesperson for the exhibition, Mahdi Boulwefa, said that the reservation rate for the participants amounted to 75% of the exhibition area, which exceeds 5,000 square meters.

He said several Libyan economic actors and private and public industrial institutions, including 60 local companies in various industrial activities are also participating.

The most prominent activities represented, he revealed, were packaging, paint and its machinery, the iron and steel industry and several manufacturing industries.

Libya: Export gateway to Africa
Boulwefa added that last year’s first edition represented a 70 percent success rate, hoping that this year’s event would achieve its target, which is that Libya would become the export gateway to Africa.

He revealed that there were 5,000 visitors last year which he hoped to reach 9,000 this year. Last year’s visitors included several by foreigners residing and working in Libya in various activities – leading to several contracts with Libyan industrial companies.

An industrial forum will take place on the side-lines
Boulwefa confirm that there will be an industrial forum on the side-lines of the event specialized in addressing the problems facing the industry sector in Libya. It will be attended by several academics, experts and specialists from Libya and the countries participating in the conference, he added.
