French energy giant Total Energies confirmed its willingness to start implementing Libya’s planned 500 MW solar energy project, the General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) reported today.
The revelation came after today’s meeting between Total Energies and GECOL at the latter’s Tripoli headquarters.
GECOL reported that Total said it would implement the project within a short, specified time period agreed between the two parties – that would satisfy GECOL – and connect its production to the national grid.
Total was also reported to have said that it looks forward to expanding the horizons of joint cooperation with GECOL by establishing other projects according to a set plan with a specific period of time.
