The Libyan Railways Implementation Authority has invited the International Federation of Railways to participate with a paper in a Tripoli workshop it is planning for 22 November this year.
The workshop aims to introduce the importance of railways in achieving and pushing the level of Libyan economic diversification through transit and freight trade.
The news was revealed by the Railways Authority on Tuesday after its Director of Engineering headed a virtual meeting with Maria Laqunett, the advisor of the International Federation of Railways for African Affairs.
During the meeting, the possibility, and opportunities for Libyan Railways to benefit from the International Federation in the following areas were discussed:
1- Providing technical support and expertise in solving problems that may encounter Libyan Railways.
2- Opening the electronic library of the International Federation for Libyan Railways employees to review studies and research and to be provided with information to gain further experience and qualifications.
3- Contributing to the rehabilitation of the technical staff through seminars organized by the International Federation.
The system of subscriptions in the International Federation and the aspects of benefiting from it were also discussed at the meeting.
