The Attorney General / Public Prosecutor’s Office is investigating how Libyans were allowed home from Istanbul without Coronavirus testing (Logo: AG/PPO).

London, 10 January 2022:

Continuing the drive to reimpose the rule of law and fight corruption, the Attorney General’s Office revealed on Friday that it had ordered the detention of a group of company owners and nine Misrata port customs guard officers for the embezzlement of LD 25 million from the customs guarantee account.

The unspecified number of businessmen had conspired in a criminal agreement with the nine Misrata port customs guards. Five customs guards are in detention.  Seven million dinars of the embezzled funds have already been returned.
