London, 2 September 2021:
Libya’s Tadawul Group has introduced to the Libyan market the first F CODE biometric cards.
It says it is the first in the world to contain a fingerprint scanner to protect customer data and provide ease and speed of use. This makes the worry of the loss of a card’s PIN by customers a thing of the past.
The F Code biometric card technology is provided by France’s IDEMIA, which Tadawul says it is its exclusive partner in Libya.
IDEMIA links with Libyan government
It will be recalled that Fathi Bashagha, Libya’s former Interior Minister under the Faiez Serraj Tripoli government, had met on 9 December 2020 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tripoli with a delegation from the French company IDEMIA.
This followed on from the signing of an MoU between the Interior Ministry and IDEMIA on 18 November 2020 for a biometric ID system.
