Emad Sayeh, head of Libya’s High National Elections Commission (HNEC), announced during a press conference yesterday that Libyan overseas voter registration for the planned 24 December 2021 will start on 18 August. Registration will be open for 30 days, ending on Wednesday, 15 September.
Registration will be conducted through a dedicated registration link on HNEC’s website.
At the press conference, Sayeh had announced that voter registration in Libya, which had ended on 31 July, was now being extended until 17 August due to the high number of people registering on the system. This had peaked at 30,000 registrations in a day.
