London, 17 June 2021:

Greece’s Chargé d’Affaires in Tripoli, Ioannis Stamatekos, met Libyan Business Council (LBC) head Abdalla Fellah Tuesday at the LBC’s Tripoli headquarters.

Economic relations between Libya and Greece and future of relations between the private sector in both countries were discussed at the meeting ahead of the upcoming visit of the Greek Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs, Costas Fragoyiannis.

The meeting also dealt with the projects expected to be implemented in the fields of energy and tourism.

The Greek Chargé d’Affaires also confirmed that the consular section and visa services will begin their duties from Tripoli during the month of September, allowing for the organization of mutual working visits between business owners in both countries. A visit by a Libyan economic delegation to Greece during that period is also expected.

On the other hand, LBC head Fellah stressed the depth of relations between Libya and Greece and that Libya is heading towards stability and the opportunity has become available for cooperation, partnership and investment within Libya and the revitalization of the economic movement. He  promised that the LBC will provide all possible support and assistance in order to enhance sincere and serious cooperation with the private sector in Greece.
