London, 9 March 2021:
Tunis Air flights to Libya will resume in April. The news came from Tunisian minister for Transport and Logistics, Moaz Shaqshouq, during his hearing in the Tunisian parliament on Monday.
He said that the suspension of Tunisian Airlines flights to Libya affected the financial position of the company, especially since the Libyan market represents about 20% to 30% of its income, in addition to income from fuel and the exchange rate.
The Minister emphasized that losses of TunisAir reached 300 million Tunisian dinars in 2020, and this is linked to the Covid pandemic.
It must be borne in mind that on many occasions over the last years an announcement has been made about the resumption of Tunis Air flights to Libya.
Malta is also studying closely the resumption of flights between the two countries.
