LIA appoints Ernst & Young (EY) as external auditors

London, 14 October 2020:

The Libyan Investment Authority (LIA) announced yesterday that it has appointed Ernst & Young (EY) as its external auditor for accounts ending in 2019.

It said this comes as a culmination of its efforts in implementation of its strategies aimed at consolidating governance, disclosure and transparency.

This appointment, it continued, comes within the framework of its completion of the first phase of its transformation project at the end of last September, and that it will announce the completion of the project of evaluating all its assets until 2019 early this coming November.

The LIA stated that it has gone a long way in enhancing mutual trust with the international community and has achieved many judicial achievements in different countries, chief among them the adjudication of the legitimacy issue in Britain, and the protection of its interests against seizure orders in Europe.

It will be recalled that the LIA had appointed  Oliver Wyman as consultants back in October 2019.
