London, 19 October 2020:

The Municipality of Busleem has announced that it installed 18 solar-powered road lights last Friday as part of an experiment for its wider use.

It said that the experiment on a main road comes in the framework of its efforts to find alternative solutions to the problem of the lack of street lighting in some of its areas, and to enter into the use of alternative (solar) energy.

The lights were installed on the rural Sidi Sleem road that links Airport road with Kremia road, and the Municipality said that if this experiment succeeds solar lighting will be rolled out on all its main roads.
