London, 18 June 2020:
Libya’s National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced 16 new positive Coronavirus cases yesterday to take the country’s total to 500. There were also 2 new recovery cases. Deaths still stand at 10.
The announcement comes as the Tripoli government yesterday extended the country-wide 8pm to 6am curfew with the addition of a 24-hour curfew for the weekend (Friday and Saturday) for another 10 days until 27 June. The ban applies to borders and airports too.
The curfew on travel to and out of the south, between cities as well as other bans on congregations – still applies.
