Paris, 26 September 2016:
Faiez Serraj, the head of the Presidency Council, is due to hold talks in Paris tomorrow, Tuesday, with French President Francois Hollande and French foreign minister Jean-Marc Ayrault.
Serraj and his delegation arrived in the French capital today from New York where he spoke at the annual UN General Assembly as well as conferring with a number of political figures also attending. The most of these was Chad President Idriss Deby, South Africa’s Jacob Zuma and Uganda’s Yoweri Museveni.
The French government invited Sarraj last month for talks in Paris.
Tomorrow’s talks will focus on the latest developments in the Libyan crisis, including plans for a new government, as well as on Franco-Libyan relations in general.
Last week Ayrault urged Serraj to make compromises and suggested that Khalifa Hafter needed to be brought into the new government.
