Tripoli, 3 April 2016:
Said Arabia has decided that Libyan pilgrims applying for visas to perform Umra and Haj . . .[restrict]this year can use the old regime green passports that had been filled in by hand, according to the Libyan news agency LANA. It quotes travel agents dealing with visits to Saudi Arabia saying that the old passports will now be accept providing they are still valid for six months as of the date of travel.
Many countries not longer accept the older passports and last year the Saudis likewise announced that Libyan pilgrims had use the newer electronically-readable passports.
This, however, caused major problems for Libyan pilgrims who were unable to obtain newer passports because of the country’s political crisis. [/restrict]
